I have this Butchers & Bicycles Cargo Bike. Mine has a Rack already on the back wheel. The Bosch Battery is placed inside the box on the steering tube.
This is not ideal from the weight distribution when carrying loads. It would actually be better to have the weight of the battery on the back wheel.
Now my Questions:
Can I install the infinite Battery alongside / in parallel to the original Bosch Battery?
Can I mount the Infinite Battery on the rear rack?
I don’t see any reason you cannot mount it on your rear rack at all. As for running both batteries, again I don’t see any real issues using a Bosch Y yolk but I chose not to as one battery has enough range for 90% of my trips so it was logical to keep the weight down until needed. I believe with both batteries mounted they both deliver power at the same time unless there is some way of isolating each battery. I’m just wondering though if you might encounter controller issues with the two different brands of battery together. Perhaps someone who has actually done it could comment as I would be interested myself just in case I do never choose to do the same.
Thanks @Biffo1262 for chiming in. With all respect, I was hoping to get definitive answers from @Alex or other staff, not guesswork which I already have done myself
i don’t think you could use the 2 in parallel (at least we never tested but i heard that bosch has a protocol to detect the second battery and block the system)
yes you could wire it from a rear rack that you could add to your bike
