The battery light is constantly on

Hi,
I noticed one week ago that the battery light is constantly on when not in use.
I checked the website and read the following facts:
”The battery turns off by itself after some inactivity and can be wake up by the following events:
current flowing in or out of the battery (charging or discharging)
-tap on the casing
-free fall of the casing
-humidity over 70%
-if there is enough energy still, periodic wakeup to ensure everything is ok and check for updates”
But I am not in any of these cases, the battery light is just on 100% of the time even at night.
I checked on my bike today and it seems that the battery charge level is dropping gradually even not in use, probably because of this light issue.
Has anyone encountered the same issue? Is there a simple solution?
Thank you all for your help. Have a good day.

What firmware version do you have ?

Hi,
I have the v1.3.O version.
I didn’t want to but I tried to open the casing and “reboot” manually : I pushed the Clear Error button and reseted the Wifi. It seems to be working, although it would be good to have a solution to reset without opening the casing.

Have the same issue, haven’t opened and done a reset. Are there any other fixes?

Since yesterday I’ve got the same issue and I cannot connect to the battery using the app and Bluetooth. The battery is “found” but does not connect. 3 green LEDs are always on.

The motor still works fine. Was there any firmware update?

Do I have to open the battery and push any restart button?

The green LED are freezed. Also when the charger is connected / or when discharging there is no difference.

Is there a way to “restart”?

This procedure solved the problem for me:

Open the case and push the “reboot” button next to the antenna on the board .

Hello,

yes we have seen the issue arise (it is due to a very deep and rare bug in one of our depencies). We solve this on the new version of the the FW (V1.7.1) that i’m about to push to everybody.

To unstuck, reseting the battery by pressing the white button is the way to go.

Is there a specific SoC or time of the day that it will update?I just finished setting up my battery and I see it’s still in version 1.1.0

at the moment i can just check the new batteries that connect every week or so and i push the update. if you send me your bms id after you connected the battery to the internet i can be a bit faster

in the future we will automotize
this

Is this still an issue? I’m on 1.7.2 and the green LEDs are always on. Battery drain is also quite fast on idle.

I need to open it up and reset it. It’d be nice if there was a way to reset/reboot from the app. It’s a bit of a pain having to open it up to press the button

The obvious solution to me seems to be to drill a hole in the casing to access the button and then plug the hole to keep the weatherproof integrity. As soon as I saw it on mine I was a bit bemused they haven’t done that. It is standard format. Lights permanently is the least of my problems. The whole thing is stressing me out.

I’ve explored the possibility of drilling an access hole to the reset button and on measuring carefully, yes it can be done, BUT you have to drill through part of the battery that is double skinned. Only the inner section is inside the actual battery compartment.

CAVEAT. You will likely invalidate your warranty. You must be careful not to damage the gasket and more importantly the gasket sealing face. The hole will require sealing and that seal must be strong enough not to blow out should internal pressure build up. As I see it that would take the hole to be tapped and a long Allen grub screw as the seal.

My advice? Don’t do it unless you are competent to undertake it and certainly NOT IN THE WARRANTY PERIOD. I have been informed that a firmware update will be issued shortly to sort out the resetting issue affecting a small minority of customer so unless it’s a really big problem for you why not just wait and see how things progress. I would personally consult Alex before even considering doing it.

I currently have the same problem.

The battery goes in sleep mode and wake up with 1 solid green.

II put it on the bike nothing happen.

And I cannot connect it with the app. (the app stopped at “loading configuration information”

My only solution is to open the case to press the reset button.

So it’s not very convenient to open the case each case you need it….

@Alex a solution?
