Warranty Claim due to BMS problem

Subject: Warranty Claim: BMS Overheating and Rapid Discharge (Order #1551)

Dear Infinite Battery Support Team,

I am writing to claim a warranty replacement for my Infinite Battery, which I purchased less than a year ago (Date of purchase: 24.11.2025).

Recently, the battery started discharging much faster than usual. More importantly, during the charging process, the BMS reports critically high temperatures of around 55-59°C. For safety reasons, I have immediately stopped using and charging the battery.

Following your right-to-repair philosophy, I have already opened the casing to inspect the hardware. I can confirm that all individual battery cells are intact, balanced, and all mechanical spring contacts are clean and secure. The issue seems to be a faulty BMS board that is failing to regulate temperature and power correctly.

Since the product is less than a year old, this is covered under warranty/EU consumer law. I would highly appreciate it if you could send me a replacement BMS board so I can swap it out.

I have attached a screenshot of the app showing the >55°C temperature.

Thank you for your quick help and response.

Best regards,

Elizabeth Hein[1]

hello, thanks for the feedback.

this range of temperature is totally normal for the BMS especially when it balances the cells because the exceeding energy is dissipated in heat in the BMS. So i dont see any issue on your battery from what you send. In any case, there is a safety trigger when the bms reaches 90°C that will stop discharge or charge. You are far from this.

About the fact that you find your battery is discharging much faster than usual, do you have data to exemplify ?

Cold weather has a massive effect on range. Are you in an area with extremes of temp? In cold weather I wrap a USB powered waterproof vivarium heated mat around the battery then cover it with the standard Bosch neoprene cover. I then velcro a powerpack in a cheap weatherproof cover and one 1000mAh powerpack lasts about 90 minutes so two of them just about covers up to a 50 mile ride. Some 18650 cells perform better than others in cold weather. Mine are Samsung 35E cells and aren’t the best if cold weather performers so I found. To be fair my unit is performing flawlessly and I have hammered it in the last 18 months. It has never once given me an issue once set up correctly.
