Bosh compatibility issue with Intuvia displays

Hello,

As the other mentioned, it doesn’t took me 10 minutes to setup this battery.

Same problems:

  1. bottom cover where the hole in case is too high, you have to force into it.

  2. Charger where you have to play the connector to make it work.

  3. I manage to connect once the battery to the phone but now, it doesn’t want to reconnect anymore….here if I remember well, I think I setup it to the wrong type of battery (there was no explanation on the app what was the meaning of each type) could this cause a big failure?

  4. I de-assemble and re-assemble several times: each times I have 1 blue led in the middle of the card then the 4 led at the tops which stay pink for several second and everything is turning off.

  5. connect to the charger doesn’t do anything.

  6. I press the rest button several times without any success. Also the clear error button.

  7. I try to connect to a PC with no success…

  8. I have no idea how to wake up

I’m currently tempted to give up completely…

Thanks,

I don’t know how you can change your cell type so if you email Alex he should be able to help from the details on the battery and put them in the app. Waking up is a problem if you cannot configure it within the allotted time before it goes to sleep. Your cell issue is slowing that down. My antenna broke but if I work with the battery, phone and router right next to each other it works. Once you have the cell type you should be good. One issue I had was what to set that little slide switch to as it only says in the instructions the designation without any advice. I set it to CAN as in the diagram and all seems OK. Once you everything configured mine had red LEDs so I pressed the little BLACK button for a few seconds (the one I can’t even see without a loupe LOL) and it flashed white then settled to steady green. At that stage I’m getting the Champagne bottle out. I gingerly plugged my Bosch charger in and the green lights pulsated slowly and fully charged the battery. It now wakes up with a solid tap on the case. The other problem was it went off into sleep mode when I plugged the aerial in so try and plug the aerial in before you connect the two halves of the battery fully. You don’t need to take the battery cell holder apart, just loosen it enough to break battery connection then push it together and pinch up the two end screws. I then configured it and put the screws in giving more time to work before it went to sleep. Trust me I lost it this weekend having to cut the case to get the Bosch plate on due to that bad wiring potting, the plug not inserting fully and the aerial breaking was the last straw. However a fresh day calmed down, then worked out how to give myself more time as described to configure and bingo. I haven’t had any charging issue but hopefully yours will be OK too once you get all steady green LEDs.

Tried mine on the bike and it simply isn’t recognised by the Bosch controller. My firmware will not update automatically as it should which seems to be a VERY common issue and as if yet despite Alex asking for the relevent info absolutely nothing is progressing. It is very frustrating to do near yet so far. What I can understand is if the tested on a Gen 2 Activeline with the original controller then why isn’t working when all logic says it should be?

Everything is up and running but I have a small query. Why won’t the battery go to sleep when on the bike. The Bosch OEM battery goes to sleep after about 10 minutes or you can switch it off manually via the controller. Unfortunately the off switch on the Purion display has no effect whatsoever and the display in the controller draws enough power to keep the Infinite battery awake, I presume until the battery goes flat. I left it for 4 hours and the drain of my 540Wh battery was shown as 2% of the indicated 98% starting charge. This equates to approx 0.5% per hour. You certainly would not be advised to store it on the bike for any great lengths of time. If you value every scrap of charge then you are well advised to remove the battery during long breaks. The good news is the discharge was enough for the BMS to get to work levelling out the charge in the individual cells after recharging and now I get 100% indicated charge. Removing the battery is something I always do when parking my bike and breaks of about 10 to 15 minutes I always left the display on so it isn’t a major issue for me but it’s best users are aware if it.

First decent ride today. Started with an indicated 98% charge. 13 miles in and my Bosch Purion display estimated a further 200 miles of range based on the last 13 miles!!! Wow…I’d take half of that at that stage. 23 miles in and added a wee bit more assistance with Tour mode and remaining range is 150 mile….brilliant!. Used Sport mode rest of the way home and on returning I had 31 miles on the clock and predicted 96 mile of range left based on the previous 31 miles. Charge down to 46%. I think things will get even better after a couple of decent rides. Cells are perfectly balanced with a max voltage difference of 0.0020 at 88% of charge. I cannot fault it in any way.

After 1 month, please find my updates.

  1. with the original shipment, I never had a good view of batteries in the application:

It was always like this even when charging.

After many discussion with Alex, he sent me a replacement for the case (where you insert the batteries).

  1. with the new case, it works better, I could fully charge it and Alex could push the update of the firmware.
  2. Now I start the mount on the bike…
  3. First problem, the Up part of the bike is a little bit different with a hole for a screw at the top which need to be removed for the Gouach case to be placed :

  1. Second problem, my battery is not reconized by the display I have a bosch Intuvia performance line: Bosch eBike - Ecran Intuvia Performance Line

I’m currently stuck there.
I re-charge my old bosch battery (which is nearly dead) and it well reconized.

there is a little gap between the male and female plug but charging the battery is working weel:

Thanks,

Yes I had to slightly modify the mount too. Also my Purion display wasn’t initially recognised either. It needed updated firmware email Alex with our battery ID and router details and he should push the relevant firmware to your battery. Be assured everything was working fine after apart from a poor connection on Bank 4 caused by the stippled surface of my Samsung 35E battery terminals. I rubbed them smooth at the point of contact and everything worked well. When you start using it try and run it down as much as possible to let the BMS ‘see’ the full range. I kept topping up after every ride and the BMS ‘thought’ my battery capacity was lower than it actually was. After two or three rides running the charge down low and recharging the BMS readings came far more in line with the true capacity. Not quite there yet but it improves with every ride. My Bosch battery was the same from new. They do say it can take months for the BMS to work at full efficiency as it is learning with every use.

The firmware is already updated before the test.

it’s currently on 1.12. It still not recognized.

That is very strange as mine was recognised on v1.7 but my controller is Purion.

@admins what’s the progress on the recognition for bosch intuvia performance line controller with the battery?
Thanks,

hello Emmanuel,

sorry for my late reply. You are not alone having issue with the Intuvia display.

We are investigating the issue. it seems that there is a CAN frame that is different on this screen. I will update our findings on this thread.

Sorry about this and thanks for your patience.

one user just told me that he managed to make the battery work with the intuvia display. Here is his feedback:

  • Problem description: The battery appears to be recognized by the bike: the display activates automatically upon insertion and the charge percentage is correctly displayed. However, the motor provides no assistance and the lights do not turn on.

  • Bike specifications: Model: Winora Sinus Tria N7 (2020)

  • Motor: Bosch Active Line Plus (Gen 3)

  • Firmware version: 5.9.2.0 (Intuvia display)

After a full charge and reconnection with the MyG app, the bike works again.

If the Intuvia console is connected after the battery, the bike won’t turn on; I have to remove and then reinsert the battery.

@Alex ,

For me, the display activates automatically upon insertion but I get nothing more.

An in addition, the battery doesn’t want anymore to charge and connect to the phone.

I have 1 green light and it seems to never stop, the battery never go to sleep mode.

Thanks,

After few weeks, I re-open the battery, reset button to put it up again and charge it completely.

And I don’t why… it finally works.

I was prepare to buy a new bosh battery…

I still have to find a proper tool too remove the extra metal in the top part to be ready..
