So I gave up trying to use these with a Bosch system. The software is too buggy and response times for support take too long. I’ve ordered the parts necessary to convert mine to use with a generic setup along with a new BMS for my second battery as it won’t wake. I tried plugging a USB directly to the BMS as Mate suggested but nothing happens. Its a shame that I’ve spent over 1k on these batteries and parts and haven’t been able to use them yet. So my investment doesn’t go to waste, I’m going to try to use these batteries with a CYC Photon Gen 2 motor for my new cargo bike build that I’m still ordering parts for. In the meantime I have toned down the silver finish with a battleship gray to match the new build. I’ll post updates of that project and these batteries here.
Very disappointing. I only ordered this to pair with my Yamaha bike system, as implied on the original crowdfunder, but I’ve had nothing but radio silence on requesting an update as to when that will be working as “all focus is on Bosch”… It seems I’ve wasted my money entirely at this point for a product I cannot use. I do not have the knowhow to make this work unfortunately, I was led to believe it would simply be plug and play.
I was an original backer as well. It sounds like their focus is on B2B sales now that they fulfilled all the original orders. Its a shame because the concept has so much potential. I get that there are so many variable’s in software from manufacturer to manufacturer but I think our input and feedback would be useful. I kind of accounted for that when I became a backer but leaving people hanging is unacceptance, especially if your bike is your primary mode of transportation.
